Chapter 7

Only a fool makes the same mistake twice, but apparently Deonte Holloman, aka Gangsta Boo, was a fool because Samira had to cut her trip short and rush home when Grady Hospital called her personal phone asking was she any kin to Deonte Holloman since she was listed as his emergency contact.

Samira promised the hospital staff they would be gifted financially if they did all they could to keep him comfortable and safe until her flight made it back to Atlanta. Samira immediately called Honey, and from what Boo’s auntie told her Boo hadn’t been talking to her either, but family didn’t think about shit like that when bad stuff happened. She stopped what she was doing and made her way to the hospital.

Samira couldn’t get Mook on the phone for nothing in the world so she was forced to call Treasure. Being the mature and grown woman she was, Treasure handled the call with no attitude and even told Samira she was praying for Boo and would give the news to Mook.

Treasure refused to jump through any more hurdles for Samira and her man. Samira had made it obvious that she didn’t give a fuck about Treasure’s household when she tried to play them.

Treasure called Mook’s phone and gave him the news then resumed her household duties. Samira had taken Treasure’s kindness for weakness and her genuine friendship for granted. Treasure was a grown woman and the only people’s happiness she was responsible for was her child and her man. Samira had lost a good friend and probably the only real friend she had.

In due time, Treasure knew things would come to light. Treasure witnessed Samira do some trifling shit with her own two eyes and she had seen Boo do some shit he had no business doing as well. In her opinion, they needed to separate before something bad happened that couldn’t be fixed. As long as she and Mook were good, she didn’t care.

Samira made her way through the double doors of the hospital, her arms crossed over her chest walking pretty fast. Mook approached her and gave her an update.

“He’s good, he just got his ass beat. Looks like his ribs broke and some teeth missing,” Mook told her.

“So what happened? He got robbed at the trap or something?” she asked.

Mook shook his head and told her what Peewee told him. “They say he was in the country gambling and somebody followed him back up this way to the gas station, beat his ass and took the Bentley.”
